Resumen
Esentepe se alza a 1.300 metros al norte de Gerede, entre pinos centenarios, con vistas a todo el distrito. El nombre lo dio Atatürk, que lo visitó el 17 de julio de 1934.
En invierno aquí se esquía, y en las pistas situadas cuatro kilómetros más al norte, en Arkut Dağı, también es posible practicar esquí de fondo. El lugar está a dos kilómetros de Gerede.
