The building was put up between 1906 and 1909 in the reign of Abdülhamid II and served from 1919 to 1979 as the military recruitment office of Çine. It has since been restored and opened as the Kuvâ-yı Milliye Museum.
Before the War of Independence the recruitment office was the gathering point for those who came from Muğla to Çine to join the fighting in Aydın, and the plans for freeing the southern front from Greek occupation were made here.
Restoration was begun by the municipality of Çine on 27 June 2006 and finished on 6 June 2008. Inside stand statues of Yörük Ali Efe and Colonel Şefik Aker.
Besides the material on the national forces in the War of Independence, the museum displays ethnographic and archaeological objects.
