What this site is
Turkeyora is a travel guide to Türkiye organised the way the country is: by province, district and place. It covers museums, archaeological sites, palaces, places of worship, national parks, nature areas and routes, and it links each of them to the province and district it belongs to.
The inventory is built from lists published by public institutions rather than from other guides, so a small museum run by a provincial directorate appears alongside the famous sites. A place that is missing here is missing from the official lists we have read, not necessarily from the country.
Who is behind it
The site is an independent project. It is not run by, funded by or affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, any municipality, museum or tour operator, even though their publications are our main sources.
There is no sponsored content, no paid placement and no affiliate link on the site. If that ever changes, the page that carries it will say so openly.
How a page is made
For each place we read the institution's own page, extract the facts it states (what the place is, when it was built, what can be seen, how visiting works) and write a guide text in our own words. Each paragraph is linked to the source document it came from, and that link is shown at the bottom of the page.
Before a text is published it passes an automatic gate: every paragraph must have a source, the text must not share a run of eight words with its source, and changeable details such as fees are read from a separate fact record rather than written into the text.
What we do not do
We do not write anything our source does not say, and general knowledge is not treated as a source. When a source is silent, the page stays short or shows the field as unknown rather than filling the gap with guesswork.
We do not copy, translate or paraphrase other sites' texts, and we do not publish invented authors, ratings, reviews or visitor numbers.
How the texts are written
The research and writing are carried out by an automated system working under the rules above. Not every article is approved by a person before it is published; the owner of the site reads samples and every exception.
We say this plainly because it matters for how you read the site: the texts are only as good as their sources, and each page tells you which sources those are.
Illustrations, not photographs
The images at the top of place pages are commissioned illustrations and are labelled as such. They are drawn to suggest a place and its character; details may differ from what you will see.
Where a real photograph is available under an open licence we link to it, so you can compare the drawing with the place itself. We link to the photograph's own page rather than copying it, so its author and licence stay with it.
What the figures mean
Fees are shown as the institution published them, with the date we last checked them. "Free", "unknown" and "no fee recorded" are different things and the site keeps them apart.
Weather tables come from the Turkish State Meteorological Service's long-term averages, and distances on routes are straight-line distances between stops, not driving or walking times.
