Resumen
El castillo de Kandil fue construido sobre una colina por los bizantinos en el primer cuarto del siglo IV, para reforzar los castillos del este y cerrar la entrada a la región de Erzen.
Se alza al sur de la aldea de Bölükkonak, llamada también Hergemo, en el antiguo camino a Sason, a seis kilómetros al noroeste del distrito de Kozluk, en Batman.
