The Bosnian Martyrs' Monument was built in Sakarya in 1997, with contributions from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Culture and Solidarity Association and the Adapazarı municipality of the day. In the words of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it was raised so that the genocide carried out by the Serbs against the Bosnian Muslims between 1992 and 1995 should not be forgotten, and should be recalled to coming generations.
The street in front of it was renamed Bosna Caddesi. The site is two kilometres from the city centre and is reached by city transport.

- Across Sakarya as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 6.3 °C in January to 23.6 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August, September and October; rainfall is heaviest in December (106 mm) and lightest in August (48 mm). Long-term means for 1951-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
