İl Ormanı Nature Park is one of the places in Sakarya that offers people coming from the surrounding provinces somewhere to spend a day in undisturbed country.
Picnicking, resting, walking, watching wildlife and various sports are all done here, and the park looks out over Lake Sapanca. From time to time it also hosts events and festivals.
On the site there are a café, a restaurant and a shop; visitors can stay in bungalows, and cycling, quad biking and riding are possible, along with picnicking and camping in the recreation grounds.
The park lies within a protected natural site and is under protection. Its position and climate allow a wide range of plants to grow.
The road to the park is surfaced and can be used in any season. There is a charge for entry; nature parks come under the General Directorate of National Parks, which sets the fees. The provincial culture and tourism directorate notes that the park is not under its own responsibility and that it cannot answer questions about entry fees or related matters.
