Guide
Sultaniye, a spa in Köyceğiz district that boat tours also call at, has water that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's portal describes as the most radioactive of any spa in Türkiye. It comes out at 39 °C and contains calcium chloride, calcium sulphate, calcium sulphide and radon. The portal lists it as good for rheumatism, sciatica, and skin and women's complaints, and attributes rehabilitative properties to its high radioactivity.
The spa is held to have been opened about 2,000 years ago by the people of Kaunos, and the remains of a hospital nearby are taken as confirmation. There are rooms to rent for overnight stays, and day visitors' needs are met in the units of the municipal facility.
