The Aktaş waterfall is in the village of the same name in the Akçakoca district of Düzce. The water drops about 50 metres, and the plant cover around it is what the provincial directorate points to as much as the fall itself.
It is also the end of one of the district's walking routes. The path begins at the Göktepe village turning on the Akçakoca ring road, runs ten kilometres, mostly along a stream, and is rated moderate; it continues through the Aktaş valley and finishes at the waterfall.

- Coming from İstanbul, leave the D-100 or the TEM motorway at the Gölyaka toll gates; from Ankara, leave at Kaynaşlı. Then follow Düzce and Akçakoca: the falls are 55 km from Düzce and 11 km from the centre of Akçakoca.

- Across Düzce as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 3.8 °C in January to 22.5 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in December (101 mm) and lightest in July (47 mm). Long-term means for 1959-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
