The bridge stands about twenty kilometres south of Iğdır, south-east of the village of Aliköçek, over the Aliköçek stream that runs between Alibeyköy and Aliköçek.
It is laid out north to south and built throughout of neatly cut black stone set in horasan mortar, with a paved walking surface. It measures roughly ten to twelve metres long, three metres high and 2.30 metres wide.
Part of it is still standing. Its importance comes from its place on the caravan road that ran from Doğubayazıt through Iğdır and Kars to Batumi. The provincial directorate reports that its own surface survey in the area dated the bridge to the Middle Ages, and that it is the only example of its kind here to have come down from that time.
