The mansion known as the İmamizade Raşit Ağa house, now serving as the Atatürk House and Museum in Kayseri, is a nineteenth-century Turkish house of the late Ottoman period. Beyond its architectural interest it has a specific historical claim: Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed here for two nights on 19 and 20 December 1919, on his first visit to Kayseri on behalf of the Representative Committee.
The house was registered as protected cultural property in 1976, expropriated by the Ministry of Culture in 1978 and opened as the Atatürk House in 1983; on 19 December 1998 its second floor was rearranged and began serving as the Atatürk Museum. Furnished with elegant furniture and decoration alongside the features of its period and region, the house holds a wax figure of Atatürk together with documents and photographs relating to his visit.
