The Atatürk House Museum in Bursa is a mansion of the late 19th century. During Atatürk's second visit to the city, between 20 and 24 January 1923, Bursa Municipality bought it and presented it to him. He gave it back to the municipality in 1938; it passed to the Ministry of Culture in 1968, and on 29 October 1973, the fiftieth anniversary of the Republic, it opened as a museum.
The first floor holds the reception hall and the sitting room that opens off it; the second holds bedrooms and study rooms. Almost all the furnishings in the house are the original pieces Atatürk used while staying here, which is what distinguishes this from a period reconstruction.
The Ministry counts the building among the most important examples of domestic architecture in Bursa. It stands on Çekirge Caddesi in the Osmangazi district, close to the city centre.
