The Cincikli Masjid, also called Hacı Yusuf, is a Seljuk building in Aksaray, rectangular in plan on a north-south axis. A door stands in a rectangular niche on the west side, and on the south is a rounded mihrab niche with a symmetrical window on either side of it. The wooden minbar to the right of the mihrab was added later, the women's gallery on the north is wooden, and the ceiling is boarded.
The west front is the decorated one, and it is why the building has its name — cincikli means glassy, from the tile. It is laid in brick, strengthened with stone at the lower part of the wall and at the corners, divided by three blind arches and decorated with turquoise tilework; the ornament is geometric, with a great many star motifs. The tiled inscription in Kufic script above the door was largely destroyed when the doorway was widened. Know what you are looking at today: the tiles lost over time have been represented by paint in turquoise, brick red and white. The roof is hipped and tiled. The masjid is in the Taspazar quarter.
