The falls are in a valley closed by mountains on three sides, its bounds forest and steep rock, with the highest ground in the use area at 1,430 metres. The park covers 17 hectares and was declared on 11 July 2011.
It lies at the Çaglayan quarter of the Derebağ township, ten kilometres south-west of Yahyalı in Kayseri — a place the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks describes as one of those where the Mediterranean region ends and Inner Anatolia begins, where the central Taurus reaches towards the Anatolian plateau. It has capacity for 300 visitors and 50 vehicles.

- Across Kayseri as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from -1.5 °C in January to 22.4 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in May (52 mm) and lightest in August (9 mm). Long-term means for 1931-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
