This building at Dereköy, on a rocky hill south of Karaman, began as a church and was turned into a mosque in the sixteenth century by Sinan Paşa, governor-general of Karaman, who added an entrance and a minaret on the north side.
Its date is not known for certain; it is thought to have been built in the ninth or tenth century. The plan is a cross, with barrel vaults over the arms and cross vaults over the corner cells between them. It lies six or seven kilometres from Karaman.
