This mosque was cut out of the rock, among the grain stores that are themselves carved into the cliff at Taşkale, and it is still used for worship. The provincial directorate describes it as a historic mosque without an equal in Türkiye, and says there is agreement that it was converted from a church.
It is square in plan and a single space. The prayer hall, close to square, takes its light from four windows set in two levels, and a wooden gallery covers half of it. Taşkale is 46 kilometres from the centre of Karaman, reached by car or by the bus that runs there daily.
