Kadirli's municipal city museum occupies what was, for some sixty years, the town prison. The building was converted under a municipal project backed by the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency's tourism infrastructure programme, and the museum opened in March 2016.
Its rooms deal with everyday life in this corner of Çukurova: local food culture, handicrafts and the social and economic life of the district. Alongside them are sculptures, belongings and works of well-known figures from the region, among them artists who lived in Çukurova.
