Ordu lives on hazelnuts, and this museum takes one crop and follows it the whole way: planting, growing, the harvest, processing, and the transport that carries it out of the province. The tools and everyday objects that make up the display were gathered with the help of people from the surrounding villages, which is why the collection is farming equipment rather than curiosities.
It occupies the Kahraman Sağra Konağı in Selimiye Mahallesi in the Altınordu district, a three-storey historic mansion that the metropolitan municipality restored before fitting it out. The municipality describes it as the first hazelnut museum in Türkiye.
The museum opens every day from 09:00 to 18:00 and entry is free. By the municipality's count in August 2025 it had received 37,176 visitors since opening, 5,377 of them in the first seven months of that year.
