The Kös spa is in the Ilicalar township of Bingöl, in the valley of the Kös stream, and it can be reached without difficulty in summer and in winter alike. The source gives its place twice and differently: at the 20th kilometre of the Bingöl-Karlıova road in the description, and at the 22nd kilometre of the Bingöl-Erzurum road in the address.
The provincial directorate reports that research has shown the water to have a number of benefits. It contains bicarbonate, carbonated gas and carbon dioxide, along with anions such as silicate and sulphate and cations such as aluminium and iron, and it has the character of a mineral water. Bingöl is a province rich in geothermal sources, which the directorate describes as significant potential for health tourism.
