Limni Gölü lies in the village of Zigana in the Torul district of Gümüşhane, on the Saronay pasture, and covers 720,000 square metres. Its height above sea level is given differently by different sources: 1,700 metres by some, 2,024 to 2,025 by others, and 2,100 by others again.
The lake is ringed by spruce, Scots pine, juniper, fir, bramble and the purple- and yellow-flowered rhododendrons.
It has been a recreation ground since 1999 and was declared a nature park in 2011; walking paths run round the lake. It is twenty kilometres from the district centre and forty-four to forty-five from Gümüşhane.
