The Orta Çeşme is a marble fountain of the square-plan type open on all four sides. Know where it is now: it stands in the garden of the Tekirdağ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum rather than in the street, and much of it has been lost.
What remains is a marble octagonal base and a square marble pier resting on it. There must also have been an octagonal pool of eight marble slabs, which no longer survives. The pier has chamfered corners, and at its upper level is a slab with four rows of moulding, projecting outwards at those chamfered parts. On those projections stood four columns with Corinthian capitals; three of the four are gone, and the surviving fourth is under protection in the museum. The museum is on Barbaros Caddesi in the Ertuğrul quarter, within walking distance of the town centre.
