What is on show in this part of the building is weapons, together with the clothing that went with them; the centre says only that the historical importance of the pieces is beyond argument, and gives no further account of where they came from or which periods they cover.
It is one room of a larger complex opened on 31 October 2008, which also holds a lace museum and a hat museum, an Atatürk exhibition hall, a doll house and a picture gallery. The whole was built and named as the Mimar Vedat Tek Culture and Arts Centre, after the architect Mehmet Vedat Tek, born in İstanbul in 1873 and one of the leading figures of the First National architectural style, who also designed another building in the province.
