The park is run under a contract rather than directly: it was put out to tender in July 2008, the contract signed in August 2008, and it runs until the end of 2036.
The site was registered as a picnic ground in 1973 and declared a nature park on 11 July 2011, covering ten hectares at Kadidagi in the central district of Kastamonu. It is open from 08:00 to midnight. The capacity recorded is 81,511 visitors and 300 vehicles — a figure the source gives without explanation for a site of this size.
