Of the complex this mosque was built as, only the mosque itself remains, and it is still open for worship. It was built in 1465 as a prayer house by Sarahatun, mother of the Akkoyunlu ruler Hasan Bahadır Han.
It was repaired in 1585, and the repair of 1843 gave it the form it has today; the minaret was completed in 1898. The mosque is square in plan, and its minbar is a fine example of stone carving. It is in the Harput quarter.
