The Biodiversity Museum of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is built around a scientific insect collection: more than a thousand species are on show, from crop pests such as the cherry fruit fly and the potato beetle to beneficial insects, together with a few reptile specimens. The specimens were collected across Türkiye by staff and students of the university's Faculty of Agriculture, and the collection serves teaching and for identifying and comparing species in research.
Visits are arranged in advance and follow a set programme. Specimens and display cases must not be touched, food and drink are not allowed inside, and photography and filming need permission from the staff.
