The cave is 100 to 150 metres from the entrance to the Dilek Peninsula national park at Güzelçamli, at the foot of the hill, and what it holds is water: the spring rising inside it has formed small, very deep pools. Where that water comes from is not known exactly.
The Panionion ancient city stands on the upper part of the same hill. The name Zeus is thought to have been given to the cave from the stories told about him; the survey found no cultural material at all on the surface inside. The cave carries the status of a natural asset requiring protection.
