The archaeological site of Ephesus is the westernmost and the largest. North-east of it, within a few hundred metres of one another, stand the column of the Temple of Artemis, the Ayasuluk hill with the church of St John, and the Ephesus Museum — that cluster is the walkable part of the route.
The house of the Virgin Mary is the exception: it lies on the hill south-east of the others and is reached by its own road.
No walking or driving times are given anywhere in this guide, because we have no road data and a straight-line distance is not a walking time. What each place is, when it was last checked and which source says so is on its own page.
