The Abacıoğlu Han stands in Kemeraltı and was built at the beginning of the eighteenth century by Hacı Mustafa Ağa. It was renewed by the municipality of Konak between 2005 and 2007.
The work was recognised twice: with the Simple Repair Award in the Respect for History Local Conservation Awards given by the İzmir metropolitan municipality in 2007, and with the Philippe Rotthier European Architecture Prize in 2011.
The building has two storeys and an asymmetrical plan with a courtyard at its centre, built of cut stone, roughly dressed stone and brick. In its original form it had nine rooms and seven cellars beneath; the north-east and south-west sections survive. Shops stand around the courtyard.
