Guide
The Aslantorunlar konak was built at the end of the 18th century and is now Sinop's ethnography museum. It has three storeys: rubble stone for the foundations and ground floor, timber frame with brick infill for the floors above. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism expropriated and restored it.
The ground floor is given to a gallery on the houses of Sinop and Boyabat, together with the kitchen and a village room. The first floor holds jewellery worn in Sinop and its region, swords, and weaving looms. The second floor is a wide hall with four rooms and three iwans arranged symmetrically around it, staged as the life of the konak.
