This is a rock settlement rather than a built castle, and it can be picked out from a distance: a mass of rock north-east of the village of Bayramaliler in the İhsaniye district, gentle on its north-west slopes and steep on the others.
In the rocks to the south there are niches and offering hollows in numbers, which indicate that the area was used for worship in the first millennium BC. Vaulted rooms, cisterns and food stores were then cut into the slopes, and a settlement grew up; the flat ground on top was walled and turned into a castle, held for defence because of the view it commanded. In the eastern Roman period the castle became the centre of a settlement called Leonto Kefal. The road from Afyon runs through Gazligol and İhsaniye to Döger, 45 kilometres.
