The spa centre of Çiftehan lies on the Ulukışla–Pozantı road, 35 kilometres from Ulukışla, beside the main highway and the railway. It has two principal springs, known as the iron spring (çelikli) and the sulphur spring (kükürtlü). The water emerges at 49–52 °C with a pH of 7.5–7.8, and carries sulphate, chloride, sodium and calcium, with a total dissolved mineral content of 2,066 milligrams per litre.

Suitable for bathing and drinking cures, the water is described by the Niğde culture and tourism directorate as beneficial for rheumatism, nervous disorders, skin and gynaecological complaints and nutritional disorders. The spa offers tub and pool baths and light and physical therapy, and there is accommodation in the village.

Across Niğde as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from -0.2 °C in January to 22.6 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in May (48 mm) and lightest in July (6 mm).
