Taurus cedar grew of itself at Dandindere, in the Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar, and the conservation area exists to protect that stand. The cedar is a tree of the south and south-west of the country, and this is the last isolated community of it recorded at the northernmost inner limit of the transition zone to the steppe in inner western Anatolia — which is the reason given for its protection.
The area was registered in August 1994 and lies at Çaykisla village in the Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar; it covers 251.33 hectares. It has capacity for 100 visitors, 15 vehicles and 50 tents.
