This nature conservation area in the Akçakoca district covers 430 hectares and was registered on 12 April 1994.
What it protects is a forest ecosystem: beech, hornbeam, chestnut and oak forming stands that are pure in places and mixed in others, an example from their optimum range whose natural character has not been spoiled, together with a rich potential of lower flora and fauna. It lies at the tenth kilometre of the Akçakoca-Ereğli road from Akçakoca, on the boundary between Düzce and Zonguldak.
