Two inscriptions give this mosque its dates. The one at the entrance to the porch records that it was built in 1695; the one on the preacher's chair, reading 1308 in the Hijri calendar, shows that the mosque was renewed in 1891.
It is square in plan, built of regular cut stone, under a hipped roof covered in sheet metal, and there is a historic cemetery adjoining it. The mosque is at Demirkapı village in the İkizdere district of Rize.
