Denizgöründü Tabiat Parkı covers 86.5 hectares within the central district of Çanakkale and was declared on 30 December 2024. The whole of it lies on forest land, and there is a pond inside it.
That pond is not natural. It is a dam built for irrigation, which began holding water in 2000, and it lies 3 kilometres south of Denizgöründü village and 25 south of Çanakkale. It is fed by surface water and seasonal streams, and loses water to irrigation and evaporation. The upper soil profile is rich in organic matter and saturated.
The area is forest vegetation and serves as a place of shelter, feeding and breeding for a great many bird species. The trees recorded are chestnut, hornbeam, oak, lime, beech, terebinth and green olive tree, with ferns beneath them. Among the animals are mullet and goby, a small newt, a spotted terrapin, black kite, black stork, herons, bee-eater, hedgehog, ground squirrel, hare and edible dormouse.
Flora watching, photography, day visits, viewing, wildlife watching and walking are what the park is used for, and its stated capacity is 350 visitors. From Çanakkale, follow the D550/E87 towards İzmir; at İntepe, also called Erenköy, follow the signs for Denizgöründü village, and the park is close to the village.
