Döngel is three caves one above another, connected to each other, and the provincial directorate counts it among the most important caves in the region: from the floor to the roof it measures 102 metres.
The directorate states that the first settlement on the soil of Kahramanmaraş began in these caves, in the Palaeolithic period between 40,000 and 10,000 BC. The skirts of the cave are covered with walnut and plane trees and are used as a green resting and picnic ground. It is at the 50th kilometre of the Kahramanmaraş-Kayseri road, about 50 minutes by car.
