Körçoban Nature Conservation Area is closed to ordinary visits: the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks states that only scientific research is permitted there, and only with ministry permission. The area record nonetheless lists hours of 08:00 to 17:00. There are no facilities. The site covers 480 hectares in Andırın district of Kahramanmaraş province and was declared on 31 December 1993.
The forest is what is being protected. Cilician fir, cedar of Lebanon and Taurus black pine grow there in stands that are pure in places and mixed in others, with old and tall individuals among them that qualify as monumental trees. The directorate describes the area as entirely untouched and its forest ecosystem as naturally rare.
Its page gives the wildlife twice and not identically. The first list names red deer, brown bear, mole, brown hare, weasel, fox, wild boar, Levant sparrowhawk and common buzzard. The second names red deer, wild boar, jackal, wolf, fox, weasel, squirrel and hare.
The area is 20 kilometres from Andırın town centre and 73 from Kahramanmaraş city, reached by private vehicle.
