Kapıçam Nature Park lies about ten kilometres from the centre of Kahramanmaraş, on the road joining the city to Gaziantep; going towards Gaziantep it is on the left. It was the thirtieth area in Türkiye to be declared a nature park. Beside it is a separate area used as picnic ground.
The park holds a botanical garden covering five hectares, with 425 rare, endemic, herbaceous and woody plants and three artificial ponds.
At the summit of the hill on which the park stands is a pavilion that has been put to various uses over the years. From its commanding position it gives a view out over the woodland, and country weddings are held there.
In the picnic area stands Extreme Park Kapıçam, a centre for adrenaline sports and entertainment with thirteen different activities: zorbing, a zip coaster, zip lines, free fall, a climbing wall, a rope course, a giant swing, paintball, ATV and horse safaris, orienteering, archery and bubble football. The source describes it as the largest extreme park in Europe and says its zorbing and zip coaster grounds are not found anywhere else in Türkiye.
Between the nature park and the extreme park, under the pines, there is an open-air cinema, which runs only in the summer months.
Because it stands on the Kahramanmaraş–Gaziantep road, the park serves people travelling between cities as well as local visitors, with room to rest, to see and learn a good many plants, and to eat either food cooked on the spot or what the facilities provide.
