This small tomb in Eyüpsultan belongs to Şeybe el-Hudri, one of the companions of the Prophet. According to the provincial director of culture and tourism, quoted by the İstanbul governorship, he is counted among the companions who transmitted few hadiths, and there are accounts that he was the Prophet's foster brother — the source gives these as reports, not as settled fact.
The tomb was closed to visitors while it was restored, and the governorship marked its reopening with a ceremony attended by the governor of İstanbul, the deputy minister of culture and tourism and the mayor of Eyüpsultan. That is as much as the source describes: it records the reopening rather than the building, so nothing is said here about its plan, date or fabric.
