The mosque at Fethiye, in the Yazıhan district of Malatya, was built in 1566 by Mustafa Pasha, son of Abdusselam, the governor-general of Malatya. In plan it belongs to the group of mosques with side rooms, the tabhane type.
You enter the main space through a round-arched door set within a pointed-arched niche at the middle of the north front. What the architect did inside is the point: the main space is separated very firmly from the side rooms, those side rooms are reduced and the central area enlarged, and above it, carried on squinches at the four corners, rises a tall octagonal drum closed by a slightly conical dome.
