The tomb at Güdül in the Darende district of Malatya belongs to Seyyid Abdurrahman Gazi, known in short as Medişeyh — the sheikh from Medina. Neither his date of birth nor his date of death is known for certain.
He was of the Tabiun, the generation that followed the Prophet's companions, and is counted among those fortunate enough to have met them. He is recorded as having joined the campaigns the Islamic armies made into Anatolia from Medina, and as having fallen here. That he came from Medina, and that he stands for the Prophet's line, is why particular respect is shown to him.
