Mogan lake lies 25 kilometres south-west of Ankara on the Konya road, and its shore is laid out for a day out: a beach, casinos, restaurants and coffee houses, with a swimming pool by the water. The lake takes boat trips.
The Mogan Park beside it is where the people of Ankara come to picnic and pass the time, and in the hot summer months the lake stands in for the sea as far as it can. Public transport reaches it. - Across Ankara as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 0.4 °C in January to 23.6 °C in August; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in May (52 mm) and lightest in August (13 mm).
