The Görkemli oak stands at 900 metres in Gökçealan village, Türkeli district of Sinop province, and was declared a natural monument on 6 November 1994. It is a sessile oak given as 350 years old, 25 metres tall, 1.59 metres in trunk diameter and 5.00 metres in girth — figures that agree with one another.
Sinop's other protected oak, at Kızılcaelmalı, is recorded with exactly the same age and exactly the same height, differing only in girth and altitude. Whether that is a coincidence or a recording habit cannot be told from two pages.
The site is managed directly by the administration rather than a concessionaire. Capacity is 100 visitors and 10 vehicles, with hours of 08:00 to 20:00.
