Gümüşhane's museum is set in the İkizevler Konağı, a historic town house in the Sürmeli area of Hasanbey Mahallesi in the city centre. The ministry expropriated it in 1991, and it began serving as a museum in 2015; in 2023 its displays were rearranged and it reopened.
The collection numbers 1496 objects: 527 ethnographic pieces, 126 archaeological finds and 843 coins.
