Part of Haspet castle is still standing — its walls and two of its towers — while the rest has been brought down by natural disasters. It sits on the eastern spur of Kızıl Ziyaret Dağı south of Muş, in the position of a guard post commanding the plain, about five kilometres from the centre.
Its date of building is not known; horasan mortar was used in its construction. At the village of Sogucak on the skirts of the castle there are two watchtowers, both largely destroyed.
