Guide

Yıldıztepe, on Ilgaz Dağı, draws visitors all year: besides winter sports it suits hiking, cross-country running, mountain biking, camping, scouting, caravanning and mountaineering. Its chairlift is 1,600 m long and carries 1,200 people an hour. The Kadınçayırı area was declared a tourism centre in 2005 and, in 2006, the Çankırı–Ilgaz–Kadınçayırı Yıldıztepe Culture and Tourism Conservation and Development Zone.

Within the zone, 422 hectares were set aside in 2012 as the Kadınçayırı Nature Park. It has a zipline, a country café, five gazebos, a bridge, picnic tables, a small mosque, a baby-care room and toilets, along with an administration and visitor centre and seven forest lodges.
