The İnegöl City Museum occupies the town's former municipal building, estimated to be around 150 years old, restored to its original form and renewed throughout across 1,054 square metres. It opened in 2009.
What makes the collection unusual is how it was assembled. Between three and three and a half thousand people were interviewed one by one, and from those conversations more than two thousand household objects, items and materials together with close to fifteen thousand documents and photographs entered the museum's archive.
