The castle lies within Kaleköy, six kilometres from the Mesudiye district of Ordu, and is known to have been built in the 14th century. What survives is a set of remains rather than a standing fortress: the great curtain walls, the ruins of three domed tombs, rock-cut graves and old gravestones.
