Ulugöl Nature Park lies southwest of Gölköy in Ordu province, about 17 kilometres from the town. The ministry registered 26.56 hectares as a nature park on 7 September 2009, and an approval dated 7 December 2021, numbered 3347945, changed the boundary and brought it to 69.42 hectares. The directorate's page describes the park's forest and facilities but says nothing about the lake the park is named for.
The woodland is mixed broadleaf dominated by beech, hornbeam, hazel, oak and alder, and integrated with it are pseudomaquis communities, forest clearings, scrub, rock and meadow, together with roadside habitats. Within the park's ecological boundary, survey established 116 vertebrate species: four amphibians, nine reptiles, 80 birds and 23 mammals.
For day visitors there is a drinking fountain, a children's play area, picnic tables and a wooden serender — the raised timber store of the Black Sea region — and for those staying, a tent camping area and country houses. Picnicking, walking and outdoor events are the listed activities, and the directorate says local people choose the park for sport and for time outdoors. Capacity is 300 visitors and 58 vehicles, with hours of 09:00 to 21:00. Ordu Metropolitan Municipality holds the concession.
Ordu can be reached by road, air and sea. The nearest airport to the park is Ordu-Giresun, about 97 kilometres away.
