The museum is the timber house where Kemal Samancıoğlu, one of Bartın's former mayors, was born and lived; it now serves as an ethnography museum.
Alongside his own belongings it holds about 700 ethnographic objects donated by families from Bartın. The provincial governorship's page says nothing further — not the age of the house, not when it became a museum, and not its opening hours.
