The Zonguldak Mining Museum and Coal Experience Gallery was founded in 2016 to tell the history of hard coal mining in Zonguldak. It is, according to Turkish Wikipedia, the first hard coal mining museum in Türkiye.
It is made up of a coal gallery in the Çınartepe quarter, used by the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise as its training mine, and a museum building put up beside that gallery. The eight-hundred-metre gallery, formerly used for the in-service training of new mine workers, now serves visitors as the Coal Experience Gallery.
In the garden are an exhibition of mining machinery and the Monument to the Mining Martyrs, raised on Liman Caddesi in 2003 in memory of miners who died on duty and moved into the museum garden in 2017.
